This event is a collaboration between scat singer Lorin Benedict and a group of vocal arrangers and singers. The music you’ll hear this evening is based on Lorin’s unique scat language and has all been created in the past month.
In April, Lorin sent us a collection of short improvised songs (#1-8), which provided inspiration for the five arranged pieces you will hear this evening.
Each arranged piece will be presented twice -- once as written (without Lorin) and once with Lorin, using the arrangement as a portal into improvisation.
